Hey, I see you found the Contact Page.
I know it’s supposed to be all business-like. Maybe it’s just me but the page felt a little …I dunno’, a little lost and maybe even barren.
But it got me thinking about the irony of the page format itself. Especially considering the whole point was for contact – connecting with another person.
I remember a time, …and y’know it’s a long time ago when a writer starts a sentence like that. But anyways, I do remember when face-to-face conversations were the norm. Whether standing in line at the movies, sitting in a cafe or walking in the park, you would always see people conversing face-to-face.
But times and technology changes. And to get along you go along. Soo, being a data-geek it got me thinking. I looked up a few statistics you may find interesting.
This was from a StatsCom survey back in 2014.
Respondents were asked, “what could you NOT live without?”
That question sounds very dramatic and of course people could survive without these things. But you get an idea of the perceived importance. And perception for that person is their reality.
Here are some results.
1. 91% of respondents could not live without their cell phone.
2. 91% of respondents could not live without their car.
3. 91% of respondents could not live without deodorant.
4. 76% of respondents could not live without television.
5. 60% of respondents could not live without coffee.
I found this fascinating and very telling.
Though I was surprised by the coffee number. I expected that one to be much higher. So looking at these numbers my bet is that devices, like our cell phones, are here to stay.
Thanks for visiting.
